ABOUT US

Skärholmens Mekane Yesus församling sköts verksamheten på amarinja, som är huvudspråk i Etiopien. Församlingen grundades 1997 av några familjer som ansåg att det behövdes en församling med luthersk troslära som ska tillvara ta mekaneyesus kyrkans medlemmar i Sverige.

Fförsamlingen har vuxit under dessa tjugo år och har numera över 200 medlemmar Enligt följande fördelning:

Barn 0-12 År:

Barn 13-18 år:

Ungdomar 18-30 år: 

medlemmar.

Gudstjänst på Amarinja

Varje lördag samlas ett 80-tal vuxna till gudstjänst med bön, lovsång och bibelundervisning på amarinja. Gudstjänsten hålls mellan kl.16-18:30, med kyrkkaffe och gemenskap därefter.

Barnen har också egen bibelundervisning och aktiviteter i form av lördagsskolan.

Dessutom har gruppen en böneträff varje fredag klockan 18:00-20:30, samt

Bibelstudiegrupper hemma hos någon av medlemmarna. Detta hålls någon dag i veckan som passar varje grupp.

Närradio

Vi har närradio program som sänds varje söndag mellan kl.09:00-10:00.

Innehållet på sändningarna innefattar inslag med evangeliska budskap, kristenmusik och intervjuer med olika intressanta personligheter inom kristenheten.

Samarbete med Skärholmens församling

Vi är glada att ha haft samarbete inom barnverksamheten.

-Gullevi Svenson har varit kör- och musikledare för barnen i flera år. Barnen har även medverkat vid flera tillfällen i församlingens allmäna aktiviteter.

-Närradioverksamheten är också ett annat samarbetsområde där Skärholmens församling understött.

Organisation:

Mekane Yesus Församlingen leds av fem styrelseledamöter som väljs vartannat år av dess medlemmar. Utöver dessa ledamöter ingår två stycken präster, (Qes biruk och Qes Yonas Tamiru) i styrelsens sammanträden. Dessa ansvarar också för församlingens andliga undervisningar och frågor.

Theology:

The  Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus in Stockholm Sweden  accepts the Holy Bible (both The New Testament and The Old Testament) as the words of God and the ultimate fundaments of its faith. The  Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus in Stockholm Sweden accepts The Apostles Creed, The Nicene Creed, Atnatewos Creed, as well as The Augsburg confession and Luther catechisms as bases for its doctrine.

Purpose:

The  Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus in Stockholm Sweden aims to gather, encourage, give pastoral care and equip members of Mekane Yesus in Diaspora for Christian life and service. This it intends to do by helping the faithful to keep in touch with their spiritual home and by nurturing their lives through worship, bible studies, conferences and mutual care in surroundings where it is not always to maintain one’s identity as a member of Mekane Yesus.

What We Believe

We Believe THE BIBLE is the inspired Word of God, which provides people with His plan of salvation and His standard for living. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We Believe in the TRIUNE GOD, who identifies Himself as

THE FATHER, Creator of the universe, alive and active in people’s lives today. Genesis 1:1

THE SON, Jesus Christ–true God and man – the only Savior of the world. John 14:6

THE HOLY SPIRIT, who, through God’s Word, brings people to faith in Jesus and strengthens them in their daily lives. Romans 1:16

We Believe ALL PEOPLE are born sinful, separated from God, and in need of His love and forgiveness. Romans 6:23

We Believe PEOPLE INHERIT God’s gifts of forgiveness and eternal life only by believing in Jesus as their Savior. Ephesians 2:8-9

We Believe in ONE BAPTISM, through water and God’s Word, is the means by which the Holy Spirit brings people into God’s family. Matthew 28:18-19

We Believe HOLY COMMUNION, in which the body and blood of Christ are truly present with the bread and wine, offers and reassures people of God’s forgiveness and promise of eternal life. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

We Believe THE CHURCH is a community of Christians worshiping the Triune God, growing in Christian faith, loving and caring for each other, and bringing others to know God’s love. Ephesians 2:19-22
